Europa Productions plan to produce the following season of

theatres, in which European language, that's up to you! Please
contact us if you're interested in hosting the season.
Europa Productions will be raising sponsorship from the Spring.
Both the Griboyedov and Bulgakov plays have casts of 40, so
considerable resources are required.
Woe From Wit (1823)
by Alexander S. Griboyedov
The classic Russian comedy, the first successful comedy of the
Russian 19th century. Originally banned by the secret police,
Griboyedov circulated the manuscript zamisdat. It is estimated
40,000 copies were hand copied this way. Suitably impressed,
the secret police changed their minds about performance...
Crime & Punishment (1866) from the novel by F. Dostoevsky.

The classic tale of psychological guilt and police determination
to convict their man. Poor St. Petersburg student Rashkolnikov
murders a porn broking old lady for her money on the grounds she
won't be missed, and he is morally superior. A police detective
disagrees,
and so begins the murder investigation. The police
lack evidence, but constanty question the nervous Rashkolnikov.
Will he
betray himself?
Flight (1929) by Mikhail Bulgakov
A unique play in eight dreams, not scenes. It is set during the
end of the Russian Civil War, when the remnants of the White
Army are desperately resisting the Red Army on the Crimean
isthmus. The lives of the abandoned Serafima Korzukhina, the
university professor Sergei Golubkov and the White generals
Charnota and Khludov are closely intertwined. The play was
rehearsed but never allowed to be performed during Bulgakov's
lifetime, as the authorities felt that it glorified the Whites. It
wasn't performed until 1957, 17 years after Bulgakov's death.
